Plan A Day Trip to Neighboring Islands
Vacationing in White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is incredible in itself, but JVD is also a perfect launching spot if you are interested in seeing any of the other surrounding islands for a day. Day trips to other British Virgin Islands can be easily arranged.
You could visit The Baths: a famous natural attraction and protected National Park on the southwest coast of Virgin Gorda. Known for massive granite boulders that form a series of tunnels and caves, you can hike, climb, swim and snorkel through the formations formed millions of years ago by volcanic activity.
You could also visit Norman Island: an uninhabited privately owned island famous for its pirate legends. Snorkel and dive at the caves and other spots or hike trails with scenic views. Home of Pirates Bight Bar, Restaurant and Gift Shop, Norman Island is perhaps most famous for its inspiration of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel “Treasure Island” and its history of being a hiding spot for Pirate’s Booty. You could also enjoy lunch and take a plunge from the top deck of The Willy T, a floating “pirate ship” restaurant and bar with a lively atmosphere named after renowned British-American physician, inventor and architect William Thornton.
